How-to

Step by Step

1

Symmetry of Markings

The blue lines running from the neck to the face and down the chest are the character’s signature. If symmetry fails, the character loses its visual identity

2

Base Quality (Skin)

Akaza’s skin is flawlessly clean. Use long-wearing foundations to ensure the pale tone remains consistent throughout the day

3

Muscle Contouring

Akaza is a fighter. The paint should not only follow the anime design but also accentuate musculature (especially on the chest and shoulders) to add depth to the look

4

Cracking Paint

Occurs when the paint layer is too thick or the setting spray is improperly applied. Solution: Apply thin layers and build color gradually. Use a professional makeup sealant instead of just hair spray

5

Transfer to Costume

Cosplay body markings tend to stain costumes. Solution: Allow the paint to dry completely for at least 15 minutes and apply translucent powder (such as RCMA No Color Powder) before sealing

6

Shaky Lines

Hand instability causes uneven lines. Solution: Support your elbow on a stable surface while working. Use a fine-tipped brush (size 0 or 00) and lightly sketch with a blue eyeliner pencil before applying the final paint

7

Skin Preparation

Cleanse the face with an alcohol-free toner to remove oil. Apply a lightweight moisturizer, followed by a high-performance primer (such as Milk Makeup Hydro Grip)

8

Foundation Application

Use a high-coverage foundation (such as Dermacol or Kryolan TV Paint Stick) two shades lighter than your natural skin tone to achieve the signature pale look. Apply with a high-density sponge using stippling motions—never dragging
