We all enter cosplay competitions thinking that our cosplay partner will join us to share the workload to make the preparation less lonely and more fun! But anyone who's entered a competition before can probably tell you that it's not quite that easy...

1) why cosplay partnerships are similar to romantic relationships;
2) why most cosplay partnerships only survive one competition; and
