I lost $1,400 over this con.

SMASH! is Australia's largest Anime and Manga conventions - and my favourite Aussie convention to go to - I've made the trip over to Sydney for it six times out of the eleven and half years I have been cosplaying.

Except for right now.

Right now, I am disappointed and upset. SMASH announced they were holding the Extreme Cosplay Gathering (ECG) preliminary round at their new SMASH! Chibi event in November - a competition I have wanted to enter for years.

I've been working hard on my competition entry, and I waited until the official announcement before I dropped about $2500 all up on flights and accomodation.

Only for the ECG prelim to be cancelled. To clarify, SMASH! Chibi is still going ahead.

And how it all went down... I believe it is a learning opportunity for everyone.
