Maddening Mock-ups: The importance of a toile and how to do one!

Do you have a part of cosplay, costuming or sewing in general that you just HATE? LOATH? DETEST?! Mine is mock-ups. The feeling of making an entire garment only to see if it works - then redoing it again... and again... and again... and when you do finally get it right... you rip it into pieces.

But, I have come to have a love hate relationship with toiles because I have learnt, if you want s good fit, you have to do the work before your scissors hit the glorious and sometimes expensive fabric.
