It just happened I got challenged while I was at Power Morphicon 2014 here in Pasadena, CA so figured I'll just combine my con video with Ice Bucket Challenge video.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body.
The people nominated in the video can either donate to the ALSA or to an ALS organization in their country.

Variable (Australia
Keren Lin (Israel
Kamui (Germany
5 people for 5 buckets of ice water. I do realized California is in a drought so I made sure to do this where it could be helpful - under a massive tree in Pasadena, CA.
Rules are simple : once nominated, the person has 24 hours to either accept the challenge and donate $100 to the organization or make a video getting ice water dumped on you. Many people have chosen to do both : do the bucket as well as donate money.
I chose to donate money to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This isn't to say that ALS is not important but there are so many causes out there. I've been volunteering at the food bank for close to a year now so it is close to my heart.
Anyone out there is welcome to join me volunteering. I usually do it one Saturday morning a month - maybe twice a month if I have time. Just email me : ejen@cosplayinamerica.com and ask what dates I'm going. I usually also set up an event page on my Cosplay in America FB page as well. The location is Vernon, California.
The mission of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in Los Angeles. Their vision is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County. To fulfill their mission, they source, acquire and distribute food, and other products to needy people with the help of partnering agencies and Food Bank programs.
