This is a video on how to make a pull ring flare. It is made from a detonator, and rocket candy. This looks like a road flare, but is a lot cheeper. This is a fun project, if your in the mood for some fire. One bottle of stump remover can make around 10-15 flares. Always use caution when dealing with this, because it can burn you. If for some reason, the fuse doesn't go off, poor water over it.
This is not a replacement for a commercial road flare.
