Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette: Swatches/First Impression

what's good, youtube family? it's ya girl Dee, back with another video.
we are looking at the new Kat Von D Metal Matte palette that was just released on Monday, 9/26. the palette is $60.00 and is available at Sephora's website and Kat Von D's website (Ulta doesn't carry KVD apparently?) and will be available in Sephora locations in October.
the palette has 13 matte shades and 9 "metals," or shimmers. the matte's didn't swatch very well and gave me a negative initial impression, but after ensuring i had plenty of primer and a little bit more precision, i could see some color payoff. the metals swatched beautifully, had excellent color payoff, and no streaking. in the makeup application of the shadows, they also did not crease at all and the shadows were long lasting.
i have to admit that i'm not immediately wild about this palette, and it's not necessarily worth the hype. BUT if you need some additional shades in your makeup arsenal, or you're a die hard KVD fan, i do recommend the palette. just make sure that you feel it's worth your $60.00 before you buy.
