MAN... GRELL IS A WOMAN | Cosplay Lip Sync | Kumoricon 2024

Was I cooking up the concept for this performance ever since the Cosplay Lip Sync Showdown last year? Yes, and I'm so grateful @MommaSammu was such a champion and excited to perish onstage for this.
Did I also make this a little bit political in giving Grell the respect she deserves as a woman? No, because respecting someone's pronouns and identity isn't political; it's just the right thing to do (and I will take no criticisms).
This performance was the excuse I needed to do some upgrades on Grell's cosplay that I've been itching to do--new wig, new glasses, new gloves, new waistcoat, and new shoes! I did a quick-change into Grell's reaper form backstage in pitch blackness with nothing but the flash from my phone to guide me (and while it's absolutely doable I don't necessarily recommend it LOL). I also made her chainsaw in 4 days right before con in order to make this happen and all things considered, I don't think it turned out half bad!
