Leather can be found at your local leather working store. I went to MacPhearsons Leather in Seattle, but Tandy leather has many locations across the USA. They'll have all the tools, hardware, rivets, dye, and snaps you'll need.
I got my aluminum from a local "exotic metals" distributor in Kent, WA. I literally just looked up "metal store" in Google maps and made a couple of calls to see who had what I needed.
