Quick and Gritty #Cosplay Glove Tutorial
I needed to make some gloves for a cosplay and didn't know where my main pattern went, so I decided to make a new one really quickly and show you all how I do it. Total crafting time is about an hour and a half; could be less depending upon your skill level.
This method works best with fabric that has a high elasticity, such as spandex, or a stretch knit that has four way stretch. If you are going to use fabric that doesn't have elasticity, please give yourself plenty of seam allowance and room to turn the gloves inside/out.
Also, if you are going to sew twice around the perimeter, I would suggest using your straight stitch first, and then the zig zag stitch on top or next to that straight stitch. My machine seized up a lot doing the traditional elastic stitch, so I finally took it into the Missouri Sewing Machine Company to have them repair and maintenance my machine.
Hope it helps! an enternal shout out to for their initial tip on not cutting the fabric until after its been sewn. Your grandma changed my life and I will forever sing ya'lls praises.
