video blog: getting ready for 7th grade | middle school tips

what's good? it's ya girl Dee, back with another blog. joining me today is The Kid! as we are winding down to the beginning of the school year and the end of summer vacation, we both wanted to bring you a few tips and suggestions for anyone that's a bit anxious about entering middle school. get used to your locker, don't be late for class. remember there's no recess, and don't be nervous. most importantly, take things head on! the kid likes to use the metaphor, "take the bull by its horns." it's a big adjustment but once you're used to it, things are a breeze.
we also tour his school briefly mapping out his schedule, get reacquainted with some of his favorite staff members (i had no clue that he knew so many teachers!) and discuss goals for the year.

also, for the bit on finishing fights, we both know that violence isn't the answer. for us, it's a last resort. but if we fight, we fight to win. hopefully it never boils down to that sort of endeavor, but i raise the kid with the ability to empower himself to make those decisions on his own.
