video blog: straightening my natural hair
what's good? how ya doin? it's ya girl Dee back with another video.
once a year i go to the beauty salon to get my hair straightened. i didn't get a chance to do it back in September when i normally do so, but went this previous week since i had some time off of work.
my stylists' name is Keishaun Redmond, of Knappy Rootz beauty salon. she's here in the heart of Kansas City and has been in business for quite some time. her salon has evolved and now features a little coffee shop right at the front! it was so perfect to have a cup of hot coffee while i waited to be seen.
since i went earlier in 2017 to get my hair cut and colored, i wanted another color application since so much of it had grown out (i'm surprised with the length that my hair has in 9 months!) and also straightened and my ends clipped. my hair is so soft, silk and manageable. it's always a minor adjustment phase to change up my routine of having natural hair (which is low maintenance) to straight hair (which is incredibly high maintenance.)
but it's only for a few weeks, maybe a month.
anyways, if you are in the greater Kansas City Metro, i highly recommend you look Keishaun up. her salon is fully staffed with a makeup artist, nail technician, loctician and barber as well. for more info, her site is
and as always, thanks for watching.
