"i guess one person *can* make a difference...*
Stan Lee, co founder and creator of Marvel Comics, has passed away today at the age of 95. as a proud nerd, who grew up admiring many works of Marvel between comics and animated series, this hurts me something fierce. i typically don't express much around celebrity deaths, as i am full fledged aware that they are people i never have nor will meet. but Stan Lee? he had such an impact on my childhood, and even today as a creator and cosplayer. this one hurt me. even friends and family knew to check on me today, or to inform me of his passing.
it's understandable that not everyone feels the same as i do. and i respect that and will not challenge those who disagree with me. but many of the reactions to those of us who are genuinely grieving our icon have been a little distasteful, enough to where i feel a PSA is necessary. this is not in response to any one person, it's been a collective of memes and shitposting down my timeline. and although I never ever let anything online affect me personally, it was still enough to compel me to make this video. he isn't even buried yet. we know how old he was. we get that he may not have been in the best of health. but it doesn't make it hurt any less. his passing is what has touched folks. let us grieve how we wish, without drawing ire or criticism. death affects people in a variety of ways. on behalf of the nerd community, please put some respek on Stan Lee's name.
again, i will not challenge those who disagree, nor try to convince them to feel what i feel. i cant ever tell you how to feel. i can only hope, suggest, and *strongly* advise that you be a decent human being. i welcome dialogue. however, bullying, disrespectful and hateful comments will be deleted and users reported for spam.
also, from a humorous perspective, my hood kept slipping off while filming this, so it's a little entertaining to see the various positions that it winds up in when i correct it lol. that's not on purpose, but it's still funny to see.
